FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – MAY 15, 2025
We are pleased to announce that John Lavin has joined Shorehill Capital (“Shorehill”) as the newest member of the Business Development team. John joined Shorehill in April 2025, bringing nearly 20 years of experience in financial services, and more than a decade in M&A. In this role, John will work with Rob Hogan to lead Shorehill’s business development initiatives, including sourcing new investment opportunities and expanding the firm’s relationships with referral sources, business owners, and industry executives.
Prior to joining Shorehill, John was a Managing Director at Prairie Capital, where he led business development efforts focused on the industrial and services sectors. He began his M&A career as an Associate at Lincoln International, where he focused on advising family and founder owned businesses. John also serves on the advisory board of his family’s office, William Gabriel Automotive.
“We are pleased to welcome John to the Shorehill team, and we look forward to him increasing and strengthening our network of referral sources,” said Dave Hawkins, Managing Partner at Shorehill. “Private equity is always seeking to uncover unique and actionable investments, and John’s experience, relationships, and market insight will add greatly to our firm’s ability to find attractive investments.”
John earned his MBA from The University of Chicago, an M.S. in Accountancy from the University of Illinois, and holds a B.A. in Political Science and Government from Creighton University. John lives in Wheaton with his wife and four children.
