Shorehill Capital Recognized as Leading Private Equity Firm for Entrepreneurs

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – September 16, 2019

Shorehill Capital LLC (“Shorehill”) is pleased to acknowledge our inclusion in Inc. magazine’s inaugural list of Top 50 Best Private Equity Firms for Entrepreneurs. This list, which appeared in the magazine’s July/August 2019 issue, identifies private equity firms with a track record of successfully backing entrepreneurs.  The Shorehill team has invested in more than 100 companies over three decades, and over 70% of the businesses acquired by the Shorehill Capital team and its portfolio companies were founder led.

“Shorehill Capital is built on a foundation of trust, collaboration, and shared success,” said Dave Hawkins, Managing Partner.  “This is most evident when we are working with entrepreneurs.  We take time to get to know entrepreneurs and their businesses, then we work together to craft optimal solutions providing for business growth and meeting founders’ objectives for their role going forward.  We are quite proud that Inc. recognized our team’s history of success in these important aspects of private equity investing.”

Brian Simmons, Managing Partner, added, “Shorehill is committed to being a good steward of entrepreneurs’ legacies, and we pride ourselves on providing entrepreneurs with comfort that their management teams will be given ample opportunities to thrive in that next phase of growth.”

Shorehill has had a busy 2019.  In January, Shorehill acquired a majority ownership interest in its fourth portfolio company, family-owned Functional Devices LLC, in partnership with the company’s management team and entrepreneur Ken Rittman.  Functional Devices is a leading, US-based manufacturer of relays, power supplies, transformers, sensors, enclosures and wireless devices utilized in the HVAC, building and lighting controls and energy management industries.  In March, Shorehill portfolio company Tribus Aerospace Corp. announced the add-on acquisition of Midwest Precision Holdings, a precision manufacturer of complex components for aerospace, defense, energy and engineered products markets.  This represents the fourth acquisition for Tribus, a precision machining business focused on critical engine, motion control, and flow control parts and assemblies primarily for the aerospace and defense industries.
